The Pinetree Lodge

Last night, Sumana, Ben and I went to see the The Cangelosi Cards, a 3-man-1-woman band that does a very nice, mellow mix of Jazz, Bluegrass, Swing and O Brother, Where Art Thou? music. They play every Tuesday in a bar called the Pinetree Lodge, a nice little hole in the wall that is whimsically decorated as an old skiing lodge. The band played in a room off the bar, one of the most comfortable venues I've ever seen, with two small tables, an overstuffed couch, and a few piles of large faux bear skin pillows spread around the floor. We chose the pillows, and spent a very nice evening talking about geeky and non-geeky things and sipping on a few of the least expensive (but good) beers I've ever had in New York (though dirty martinis or whiskey sours might have been more appropriate). Definitely worth repeating.
