Busy Busy
Been busy, very busy. School is still taking up most of my time, but there has been time for other things too.
Iris was here two weeks ago, which was a lot of fun. We bummed around Stanford and Palo Alto, made a lot of good food, and spent a day up in San Francisco. As usual, our time together was way to short, and to make it worse, I had a take-home midterm over the weekend. But, also as usual, it was really nice having her here.
Then last week, Eric and I made beer. A while back, he had mentioned that he had done some brewing with friends back in undergrad, and I mentioned that I'd be interested in learning. So he got the necessary equipment and ingrediants and we spent an afternoon boiling and cooling different mixtures of grains, malt and hops. In about a week we'll bottle it up, and two weeks after that, right about the time we get back from break, it will be ready to drink.
Finally, this last weekend my mom was here. We did a day around Palo Alto, a day in San Francisco, and a day in Santa Cruz. In both San Francisco and Santa Cruz, we saw sea lions, under the pier in Santa Cruz (pictures coming) and as we were looking out at the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.
